У місті Корча (Албанія) триває міжнародний фольклорний фестиваль Shpirti i Ballkanit — «Дух Балкан», що зібрав колективи з Албанії, Північної Македонії, Болгарії, Чорногорії, Румунії та Греції. Вперше до програми долучилися й гості з Франції: учасники з регіону Савойя презентували танцювальні традиції французьких Альп, додавши заходу несподіваного європейського відтінку. Фестиваль урочисто відкрився барвистою ходою старим базаром Корчі, де вулиці наповнилися звуками балканських інструментів, ритмом народних танців та яскравими кольорами традиційного вбрання. Артисти створили живу мозаїку культурної спадщини, в якій поєдналися історія, ритми та національні ідентичності регіону. Цього року фестиваль уперше представив і балканські музичні гурти, що осучаснили звучання етномузики, відкривши її новими інтерпретаціями. Першого вечора глядачі побачили виступи колективів із Тирани, Скоп’є та Софії, а також знаного духовного оркестру з Корчі — Fanfara e Korçës. Завершенням вечора став вибуховий сет Zig Zag Orchestra за участі вокаліста Дрена Абазі, що поєднав фольклор із елементами сучасної балканської сцени. Наступного дня заплановано виступи об’єднаного балканського ансамблю з Румунії, Болгарії та Північної Македонії, а також тріо з Чорногорії та Греції. Усі колективи, що брали участь у параді, представлять свої концертні програми на головній сцені Старого міста.
"Spirit of the Balkans" Unveils the Folkloric Mosaic of Southeastern Europe
The city of Korçë (Albania) is hosting the international folklore festival Shpirti i Ballkanit — "Spirit of the Balkans", bringing together ensembles from Albania, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Romania, and Greece. For the first time, guests from France joined the program: participants from the Savoy region presented the dance traditions of the French Alps, adding an unexpected European flair to the event. The festival opened with a colorful procession through the old bazaar of Korçë, where the streets came alive with the sounds of Balkan instruments, the rhythm of traditional dances, and the vivid colors of folk costumes. The performers created a living mosaic of cultural heritage, where history, rhythm, and national identities intertwined. This year, for the first time, the festival also featured Balkan music groups who brought modern interpretations of traditional folk music, expanding its soundscape with fresh perspectives. On the first evening, audiences witnessed performances by ensembles from Tirana, Skopje, and Sofia, as well as the renowned brass band from Korçë — Fanfara e Korçës. The evening concluded with an electrifying set by Zig Zag Orchestra featuring vocalist Dren Abazi, blending folklore with elements of the contemporary Balkan music scene. The second day features performances by a joint Balkan ensemble from Romania, Bulgaria, and North Macedonia, as well as a trio from Montenegro and Greece. All the groups who took part in the parade will present their full programs on the main stage of the Old Town.
