31-й Сараєвський кінофестиваль відкриється 15 серпня прем’єрою темної комедії «Павільйон» режисера Діно Мустафича. Події фільму відбуваються в будинку для літніх людей, де мешканці, втомлені від системного приниження, влаштовують збройне повстання проти персоналу та влади. Режисер описує стрічку як бунт сумління — нестандартну історію про гідність, що не залежить від віку. Це фільм про найстарше покоління, яке вирішило діяти згідно з власними переконаннями, зазначає Мустафич. Цьогоріч фестиваль також матиме нову нагороду — Special Youth Perspectives Award, засновану за підтримки Ради Європи. Організатори називають цей крок відповіддю на запит молоді до активнішої участі в культурному діалозі. Відкривати фестиваль доручено актрисі Лідії Кордич — вона вперше побачила свою дебютну прем’єру саме в Сараєві, а тепер повертається як ведуча головної події. Для мене це — магічний час у місті, наповненому стилем, мовами та емоціями, зізнається вона. У головних ролях «Павільйону» — зірки регіону: Раде Шербеджія, Зія Соколович, Мір’яна Каранович, Ермін Браво та інші. Стрічку створено у співпраці шести продюсерських компаній з Балканського регіону. Фестиваль триватиме до 22 серпня й уже обіцяє стати найяскравішою кіноподією літа — не лише для поціновувачів мистецтва, а й для тих, кого цікавить, як кіно змінює погляд на старість, бунт і гідність.
Sarajevo Film Festival to open with rebellious comedy about a retirement
The 31st Sarajevo Film Festival will open on August 15 with the premiere of The Pavilion, a dark comedy by director Dino Mustafić. Set in a retirement home, the film follows residents who, tired of systemic humiliation, stage an armed revolt against the staff and authorities. Mustafić describes his film as a “rebellion of conscience” — an unconventional story about dignity that defies age. “It’s a film about the oldest generation deciding to act according to their beliefs,” says the director. This year, the festival will also introduce a new award — the Special Youth Perspectives Award, established with the support of the Council of Europe. Organizers call it a response to the younger generation’s desire for a stronger voice in cultural dialogue. The opening ceremony will be hosted by actress Lidija Kordić, who saw her debut premiere in Sarajevo and now returns as the face of the festival’s biggest event. “For me, it’s a magical time in a city filled with style, languages, and emotion,” she says. The Pavilion features some of the region’s most prominent actors, including Rade Šerbedžija, Zijah Sokolović, Mirjana Karanović, Ermin Bravo, and others. The film was produced through the collaboration of six production companies from across the Balkans. The festival will run until August 22 and is already being hailed as the cultural highlight of the summer — not only for art lovers, but for anyone curious about how cinema reshapes our view of aging, rebellion, and human dignity.
