У Республіці Сан-Марино урочисто стартував святковий сезон “Natale delle Meraviglie 2025–2026” під символічною темою «Історія поза часом». Напередодні ввечері відбулося традиційне запалення різдвяних ілюмінацій, головною окрасою якого стала “Велика Зірка” заввишки 12 метрів. Святкові ілюмінації підсилюють музичні різдвяні композиції, а видовищні світлові інсталяції перетворюють найвідоміші локації історичного центру, що входить до спадщини ЮНЕСКО, зокрема Площа Свободи та Базиліку Святого Марина, на справжню сцену емоцій, дива й живих виступів. Особливу увагу привертають масштабні світлові проєкції на фасаді базиліки та інсталяції на Piazzale Domus Plebis. Різдвяно-новорічні свята в Сан-Марино мають виразний європейський шарм і глибоко вкорінені християнські традиції. У грудні місто наповнюється: різдвяними ярмарками з місцевими ремеслами, пряниками, каштанами та гарячим вином; живими вертепами та хоровими виступами; святковими богослужіннями у базиліках; родинними вечерями у Святвечір із традиційними стравами. У Сан-Марино особливу увагу приділяють місцевій гастрономії, зокрема Panettone (італійський різдвяний кекс із цукатами та родзинками);Pandoro ( бісквітний кекс у формі зірки); Torrone (нуга з мигдалем, медом і горіхами); гаряче вино з цитрусами та спеціями та місцеві лікери на травах. У новорічну ніч жителі й гості міста збираються на центральних площах, де лунає святкова музика, відбуваються концерти та феєрверки, а опівночі вітають одне одного під дзвін келихів. San Marino has lit up with Christmas lights: Natale delle Meraviglie 2025–2026 has officially begun
In the Republic of San Marino, the festive season Natale delle Meraviglie 2025–2026 has officially begun under the symbolic theme A Timeless Story. On the previous evening, the traditional lighting of the Christmas illuminations took place, with the 12-metre-tall Great Star as its central highlight. The festive lights enhance the Christmas musical atmosphere, while spectacular light installations transform the most iconic locations of the historic centre—part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site—such as Liberty Square and the Basilica of Saint Marinus, into a true stage of emotion, wonder, and live performances. Special attention is drawn to the large-scale light projections on the façade of the Basilica and the installations at Piazzale Domus Plebis. Christmas and New Year celebrations in San Marino are marked by a distinct European charm and deeply rooted Christian traditions. In December, the city comes alive with Christmas markets featuring local crafts, gingerbread, roasted chestnuts, and mulled wine; live nativity scenes and choral performances; festive church services in the basilicas; and family dinners on Christmas Eve with traditional dishes. Local gastronomy holds a special place in San Marino’s holiday traditions. Visitors can enjoy Panettone, the Italian Christmas cake with candied fruit and raisins, Pandoro, a soft sponge cake shaped like a star, Torrone, nougat made with almonds, honey, and nuts, mulled wine with citrus and spices, as well as local herbal liqueurs. On New Year’s Eve, residents and visitors gather in the main squares of the city, where festive music fills the air, concerts and fireworks take place, and at midnight people exchange greetings to the sound of clinking glasses. The festive season Natale delle Meraviglie blends modern lighting technology with centuries-old traditions, turning San Marino into a true Christmas fairy tale, open to residents and visitors from all over the world.
