З 22 по 25 травня у шведському місті Мальме відбувся щорічний фестиваль Southern Sweden Design Days, який уже вп’яте став ключовою подією у сфері дизайну та архітектури регіону. Захід зібрав понад 200 учасників — провідних дизайнерів, архітекторів, митців та студентів профільних вишів, які презентували свої найновіші розробки з фокусом на екологічність, функціональність та соціальну відповідальність.
Цьогорічною темою фестивалю стала «Care» (Турбота) — проєкти відображали не лише технічну досконалість, а й глибоку увагу до людини, довкілля та спільнот. Головною локацією знову став простір Lokstallarna, де відвідувачі змогли ознайомитися з масштабною експозицією, відвідати публічні лекції, тематичні панелі, воркшопи, а також спеціальні інтерактивні зони для дітей. Серед найпомітніших робіт — інсталяція «Cycle of Light» від дизайнерського дуету Studio Malm, яка отримала відзнаку за інноваційність у матеріалах, а також проєкт меблів із вторинної сировини студентів Лундського університету, який здобув премію за сталий підхід у молодіжному дизайні. Особливої уваги заслужила участь гостя з Японії — архітекторки Санае Моріта, яка представила свою концепцію «дизайну тиші» в урбаністичному просторі. Її лекція зібрала повну залу слухачів і викликала активні обговорення в професійних колах. Southern Sweden Design Days підтвердив статус одного з найвпливовіших культурних форумів Скандинавії, де народжуються нові ідеї, підходи та партнерства в галузі креативних індустрій. Наступний фестиваль заплановано на травень 2026 року.
Design for Sustainability, Innovation, and the Future of Craft Showcased in Malmö
From May 22 to 25, the Swedish city of Malmö hosted the annual Southern Sweden Design Days, now in its fifth year, reaffirming its role as a key event in the region’s design and architecture calendar. The festival brought together more than 200 participants — leading designers, architects, artists, and students from design universities — who presented their latest projects focused on sustainability, functionality, and social responsibility. This year's theme was “Care”, with projects highlighting not only technical excellence but also deep attention to people, the environment, and local communities. The main venue, Lokstallarna, once again served as the central hub for a large-scale exhibition, public lectures, panel discussions, workshops, and special interactive areas for children. Among the most noteworthy works were the installation “Cycle of Light” by the design duo Studio Malm, which was recognized for its innovative use of materials, and a sustainable furniture project created from recycled materials by students from Lund University, which earned an award for youth design in sustainability. A highlight of the festival was the appearance of Sanae Morita, a guest architect from Japan, who introduced her concept of “quiet design” in urban space. Her lecture drew a full house and sparked wide discussion within professional circles. Southern Sweden Design Days once again proved itself as one of Scandinavia’s most influential cultural forums — a place where new ideas, approaches, and collaborations in the creative industries are born. The next edition is scheduled for May 2026.
