On 25 December, a new historical drama Kapodistrias will be released in cinemas across Cyprus. The biographical film is dedicated to the life of Ioannis Kapodistrias (1776–1831), the first Governor of independent Greece.

The international Cyprus Film Days festival, held in Nicosia and Limassol, unexpectedly became one of the most talked-about events not only in Cypriot media but across the wider European film press.
