Колишню лідерку французької ультраправої партії «Національне об'єднання» (RN) Марін Ле Пен засуджено до чотирьох років ув’язнення, два з яких – без можливості пом’якшення покарання (перебування вдома під електронним браслетом), а також до п’яти років дискваліфікації, що означає втрату права балотуватися на виборах у цей період. Суд визнав її винною у справі про розтрату державних коштів, пов’язаній із фінансуванням європейських помічників партії. Разом із Ле Пен ще 23 обвинувачених отримали покарання, зокрема дискваліфікацію, у деяких випадках – умовну. «Національне об'єднання» як партія було оштрафовано на 2 мільйони євро, з яких 1 мільйон – обов’язковий штраф.
